Doctors Warn Severe Rash May Appear After Moderna COVID-19 Vaccine Shot

Severe itchy rash might be a sight effect of getting the COVID-19 Moderna vaccine, warned doctors. Patients saw a big skin lesion at the injection site and it was about 10 centimeters in diameter.

In a trial of 30000 people 12, people who received the first dose of Moderna vaccine saw their arms turn swollen and itchy, 5 to 7 days after they getting vaccinated, as per the letter published in New England Journal of Medicine by doctors.

The letter said that five of the patients saw a big skin lesion at the injection site and it was about 10 centimeters in diameter. Two patients experienced the rash in other places like palm or elbow.

The rash appeared 5 or 8 days after getting the first dose, but these rashes were gone after 4-5 days, the report said.

These patients were encouraged to complete the vaccination course by getting the second dose.
