The person who built the “world’s best” rocket pads, making Putin’s aspirations of space travel a reality, was shrouded in uncertainty this year.

Nesterov, who once served as the head of Russia’s esteemed Khrunichev Centre, was the mind behind the Angara rockets that Putin wanted to utilize to launch Russia into space.

Using Nesterov’s plans as a foundation, Russia is currently developing its first manned lunar trip.

But accusations of fraud and embezzlement have followed him into his later years.

Nesterov was placed under house arrest in 2014 after a criminal investigation was first opened.

His embezzlement case, however, had not yet approached court at the time of his passing.

Historically, the former director was widely regarded as a leading voice in his area, hailing the Angara as the “world’s best” rocket system.

His cause of death is still unknown.

He is the fourth top Russian official to die in a couple of days, joining a long list of high-profile Putin associates who have died since the conflict in Ukraine began.

On Christmas Day, just hours before a prearranged meeting with Putin, a Russian tank commander died.

General Alexei Maslov, 69, died unexpectedly shortly after Putin canceled a visit to the tank manufacturer where he worked in Uralvagonzavod.

Putin then abruptly canceled his visit, despite the fact that his convoy was already in position and the roads had been freed of snow.

Just days before, one of Russia’s senior navy commanders died unexpectedly at the age of 65.

Alexander Buzakov was the general director of the Admiralty Shipyards in St Petersburg, where he oversaw the construction of new submarines for Russia.

According to a Russian Telegram channel claiming to have access to the FSB security service, Buzakov was in good health the day before he passed away and “nothing had been heard about Maslov’s health problems” before to his demise.

His death was described as “sudden, untimely and tragic”.

Additionally, a wealthy 65-year-old Putin critic was recently discovered dead under strange circumstances. The former Russian politician who criticized the conflict with Ukraine has passed away. According to reports, Pavel Antov died after falling while on vacation in India. This is 2nd Russian lawmaker that has been assassinated in India in a week.

One of the most prominent Russian critics of the invasion, he had earlier called Russia’s assault on Ukraine “terror”

The sausage tycoon reportedly leapt off the roof, according to Indian media. He was previously rated as Russia’s wealthiest elected lawmaker in 2019.

However, just days before his 66th birthday, Alexei Idamkin, the Russian consul general in India, asserted that he had fallen from a window.

He was discovered at the hotel in Rayagada, Odisha, in a pool of blood.

He died soon after 61-year-old Vladimir Budanov, another member of his party, who also perished last week in India.

Last Thursday, Budanov reportedly passed away from a heart attack.
