The director of the UN's Human Rights Office in New York, Craig Mokhiber, has resigned, saying that the UN has surrendered to Israel and the US.
Craig Mokhiber, the director of the UN's Human Rights Office (OHCHR) in New York, has resigned from his position, blaming the organization's inadequate handling of the Israel-Palestine conflict.
The senior official asserted that the "European, ethno-nationalist, settler colonial project in Palestine has entered its final phase" and that the UN had "surrendered to the power of the US" in place of completing its job.
Mokhiber wrote to the UN High Commissioner on Human Rights Volker Turk, stating, "Once again, we are seeing a genocide unfolding before our eyes, and the Organization that we serve appears powerless to stop it." The letter was published on Tuesday.
