Judge Tanya Chutkan’s Ties To Hunter Biden

U.S. District Judge Tanya Chutkan of Washington, D.C., who presides over the case of former President Donald Trump in the district, has a prior association with Hunter Biden and close ties to the Ukrainian energy firm Burisma during her tenure at the law firm Boies, Schiller, & Flexner LLP (BSF).

Her official biography reveals that she dedicated 12 years to the firm, focusing on white collar litigation and antitrust defense, before being nominated to her present position by former President Obama.

Before her time at BSF, Judge Chutkan gained experience at various private sector law firms and also served as a public defender in Washington D.C. She holds degrees from George Washington University and the University of Pennsylvania law school.

During Chutkan’s nomination in December 2013, Don Flexner praised her outstanding qualities, stating, “Perhaps as important as all the skillsets that she has, she is a person of just consummate decency.” He believed her addition to the bench in Washington would be warmly received.

Hunter Biden was associated with BSF in the same year he joined Burisma’s board in April 2014. Hunter swiftly engaged BSF partners to support Burisma in its efforts to influence U.S. officials, as revealed in emails found on his laptop.

In April 2014, Hunter Biden and his business associate, Devon Archer, discussed how BSF could provide them with “protection” and collaborate with government officials on behalf of Burisma.

“BSF can actually have direct discussions at state, energy and NSC. They can devise a media plan and arrange for legal protections and mitigate US domestic negative press regarding the current leadership if need be,” Biden told Archer.

“The contract should begin now- not after the upcoming visit of my guy. That should include a retainer in the range of 25k p/m w/ additional fees where appropriate for more in depth work to go to BSF for our protection. Complete separate from our respective deals re board participation,” Biden added.

Following his communication with Archer, Biden arranged a call with BSF partners, including Christopher Boies and Heather King, as revealed in the emails.

In May 2014 emails, it was shown that King represented Burisma founder Mykola Zlochevsky in discussions with the State Department. Additionally, she collaborated with Burisma on strategies for managing media relations and influencing government officials. The emails suggested hiring professional lobbyists, a PR firm, and an investigative research firm to strengthen Burisma’s influence operation.

On Tuesday, former President Trump was indicted in Washington, D.C., by Department of Justice (DOJ) Special Counsel Jack Smith. The charges include alleged interference in the 2020 presidential election and his supposed involvement in the January 6th, 2021 Capitol riot. Trump made the announcement regarding the indictment on Truth Social just before the news broke.

Trump Special Counsel Prosecutor Karen Gilbert, who is also a deputy to Special Counsel Jack Smith and a federal prosecutor, has a long history of corruption.

“This is nothing more than the latest corrupt chapter in the continued pathetic attempt by the Biden Crime Family and their weaponized Department of Justice to interfere with the 2024 Presidential Election,” the Trump campaign said in a statement.

“President Trump will not be deterred by disgraceful and unprecedented political targeting!”
