Bill Gates’s Foundation is now funding the UN’s Ukrainian refugee program. The grant was announced in March and is set to be distributed over the course of one year.
The UN's Ukraine refugee resettlement initiative is being funded by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.
The philanthropic organization of the Microsoft co-founder gave $1,000,003 to the UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), also known as the UN Refugee Agency, to "support refugees fleeing Ukraine to bordering countries."
The fund was declared in March and will be disbursed over a 12-month period. The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation has given almost $20 million in grants to the UNHCR in the past 10 years, and has been a collaborator with the organization since 2006.
