The "Oscars of gastronomy," as Statista's Anna Fleck puts it, have crowned Barcelona's Disfrutar the best restaurant in the world, ahead of Asador Etxebarri in Atxondo and Table in Paris.
While three restaurants in Spain, one in France, and one in Denmark made up five of the top ten restaurants this year, Maido in Lima, Quintonil in Mexico City, and Don Julio in Buenos Aires all did well in Latin America. Gaggan, a Bangkok-based player in rank 9, was Asia's best performer.
