One of the players' phones was the source of the pornographic images of the University of Wisconsin women's volleyball team that were posted online, reports Mail Online.
The athlete is not under investigation, and the University of Wisconsin Police stated they are investigating whether her cell phone was hacked, but they do not know how the images ended up online.
The Department's Executive Director of Communications, Marc Lovicott, discussed the investigation with DailyMail.com and provided the following comments: 'We're looking into what happened and who may have shared these photos.
'None of the players are being investigated and we are looking at the possibility that one of their phones was hacked.'
