GGI intelligence sources suggest that Arsen Avakov might be the CIA’s choice to replace Volodymyr Zelenskyy as President of Ukraine. Avakov is a former Minister of Internal Affairs who held significant power from 2014 to July 2021. During his time in office, he was responsible for establishing the controversial Azov Battalion, which has been linked to neo-Nazi beliefs, as well as the Myrotvorets website, known for creating kill lists.

Who is Arsen Avakov
Before becoming Interior Minister, Avakov had a career as a banker and was a member of Ukraine’s National Security and Defense Council (NSDC). He was appointed Acting Minister of Internal Affairs after the 2014 revolution in Ukraine, a time marked by major political upheaval. It was during this period that he met with high-ranking U.S. officials, including CIA Director John Brennan, raising concerns about the involvement of American intelligence in Ukraine. Some Ukrainian leaders, like Oleg Tsarev, claimed that U.S. intelligence agencies had taken over part of the Ukrainian Security Service (SBU) building, preventing Ukrainian employees from accessing that area.

Controversial Decisions
Avakov’s tenure was marked by significant and controversial decisions. He dissolved the Berkut riot police, which had been heavily criticized for its actions against protestors, and labeled pro-Russian separatists as “terrorists.” He also played a key role in forming the National Guard of Ukraine to counter external threats. His actions caught the attention of Russian authorities, who subsequently placed Avakov on their wanted list for various charges, including using prohibited warfare tactics and abduction.
Ties to the Azov Battalion
Avakov has openly admitted to helping create the Azov Battalion in 2014. Under his direction, the battalion was integrated into the National Guard, and several of its veterans were appointed to important positions within the Interior Ministry. Notably, Vadym Troyan and Serhiy Bondarenko, who served as the head and deputy head of Kyiv’s police, were among those promoted by Avakov.
Meetings with U.S. Officials
In 2018, Avakov traveled to the United States, where he met with members of Congress, including Republican Devin Nunes and Democrat Marcy Kaptur. During this visit, he met with FBI Director Christopher Wray, and they signed a memorandum aimed at increasing cooperation on issues like cybercrime and organized crime.
Trump VP J. D. Vance on Kill List
As GreatGameInternational shared earlier, another associated group Molfar OSINT, a Ukrainian intelligence agency based in London, added Senator J.D. Vance to its kill-list on the same day he was announced as Donald Trump’s Vice Presidential candidate. This surprising move is seen as a major security threat to both Vance and Trump. Molfar functions as a key targeting agency for Ukrainian military and intelligence, repackaging NATO propaganda as “Ukrainian OSINT” through its media partners. Its “Foreign Propagandists” list categorizes individuals as “Enemies of Ukraine,” demanding they be treated as national security threats, removed from public positions, sanctioned, investigated for crimes and even assassinated.

The Implications
Avakov’s potential rise to power as the next President of Ukraine raises many questions about his controversial past and the implications for Ukraine’s future. While he has strong ties to the U.S. government, his connections to extremist groups and his history of controversial decisions could have significant consequences for Ukraine, especially amid ongoing tensions with Russia and the complex dynamics of the region.
As the situation develops, many will be watching to see if Avakov’s ambitions come to fruition and what that would mean for the future of Ukraine.
