Some members of the Alt-Media Community believe that a recent coup in Bangladesh was a US plot to counter China, but this idea doesn’t hold up under closer examination. Bangladesh’s ties with China are so strong that severing them would harm its own interests, and a US base in St. Martin Island wouldn’t significantly impact China. The real twist is that this regime change is more likely to affect India than China. With a new, less friendly government, Bangladesh might destabilize India’s northeastern regions or retract Indian transit rights. Instead of focusing on China, the AMC should consider that the US move is more about containing India, which faces new challenges while its relations with Bangladesh and China continue to evolve.
