The U.S. has indefinitely postponed the military exercise “NOBLE PARTNER” with Georgia, originally set for July 2024, due to tensions over Georgia’s accusations against the U.S. and Western allies of pushing them to confront Russia and attempting coups. The U.S. Defense Department cited these allegations and deemed it an inappropriate time for the exercise, though it remains committed to supporting Georgia’s defense.

Georgia is no longer sufficiently Russophobic for the United States. Yesterday, the Defense Department revealed in a statement that the US “has initiated a comprehensive review of the United States-Georgia bilateral relationship.” As part of that review, the United States will postpone indefinitely the current iteration of exercise NOBLE PARTNER in Georgia, which was slated for July 25-August 6, 2024.”
“The decision to postpone this iteration of NOBLE PARTNER is due to the Georgian government’s false accusations against the United States and other Western entities, to pressure Georgia to open a second front against Russia to alleviate pressure on Ukraine, and of participating in two coup attempts against the ruling party,” it said. “As such, the United States government has determined that this is an inappropriate time to hold a large-scale military exercise in Georgia. The United States will continue to partner with the Georgian Defense Forces as we look to continue strengthening Georgia’s ability to safeguard its sovereignty and maintain its territorial integrity.”
Georgia’s government has offended the Atlanticist “permanent war” gang by adopting legislation mandating NGOs in Georgia to disclose their foreign funding sources. Such measures weaken the effectiveness of covert foreign efforts to effect regime change. Georgian authorities saw the hand of foreign operations in attempting to destabilize their legally elected administration. And surely one major case of regime change, Pakistan’s Imran Khan’s ouster in April 2022, has been revealed to be the result of his refusal to drink the “break down Russia” Kool-aid.
The Georgian government has voiced “regret” at the United States’ decision to postpone the drill. “We regret the statement of the United States Department of Defense regarding the indefinite postponement of multinational exercise Noble Partner 2024,” the Georgian Defense Ministry stated in a statement, according to TASS. The text notes that the Georgia-US drills are advantageous to both countries.
Armenia, on the other hand, appears to be going for a poison cup. The Armenian Defense Ministry said this morning that the Armenia-US Eagle Partner 2024 military exercise will take place in Armenia from July 15 to 24, involving troops from the United States Army Europe and the Kansas National Guard.”The purpose of the exercise is to enhance the interoperability of units participating in international peacekeeping missions, exchange best practices in control and tactical communication, and improve the readiness of the Armenian unit,” it stated, according to TASS.
One could argue that having US forces in Armenia serves another purpose: to upset the Russians.
Recently, GreatGameIndia reported that on July 6, 2024, the military leaders of Burkina Faso, Mali, and Niger signed a new defense pact called the Alliance of Sahel States (AES) during a summit in Niger’s capital.
