In a startling turn, Russia has declared a devastating attack in Sevastopol, Crimea, blaming a US missile strike that claimed lives and injured over a hundred, including many children. The incident, described as a “terrorist missile strike” by Moscow, involved American-supplied missiles with cluster warheads, exacerbating the casualties. Videos circulating online capture the chaos as a missile hit a crowded beach, prompting severe condemnation from Russian officials who accuse Washington of orchestrating the strike from Ukraine’s territory. Tensions are escalating rapidly, hinting at broader repercussions in the region.

On Sunday, Russia reported a large-scale casualty incident in the Crimean port city of Sevastopol, citing the involvement of a US long-range missile.

In a recent update, the Russian Ministry of Health reported that 124 individuals, including 27 children, were injured in a series of strikes from Ukraine that resulted in five fatalities. According to the government, two of the dead were youngsters. As hospital data is released and the emergency response takes place over the following few hours, the death toll is probably going to rise.

Five US-supplied ATACMS tactical missiles were used in what Moscow is referring to as a “terrorist missile strike” on Sevastopol, which occurred shortly after noon local time. Furthermore, Russia claims to have had cluster warheads installed, which would make for a larger casualty strike zone.

According to Crimean officials, there was an incident where a missile burst above a busy beach, showering individuals who were lounging there with shrapnel.

Washington was specifically blamed in a separate statement from the Russian Defense Ministry (MoD). “Flight missions for ATACMS missiles are programmed by American specialists based on US satellite reconnaissance, making Washington primarily responsible for the deliberate missile strike on Sevastopol’s civilians,” said the Russian Ministry of Defense (MoD).

“Therefore, the responsibility for the deliberate missile strike on Sevastopol’s civilians lies primarily with Washington, which supplied this weapon to Ukraine, as well as the Kiev regime, from whose territory the strike was launched,” the MoD statement added.

The statement clarified that although four of the five incoming rockets were shot down by anti-air systems, the fight’s course was altered by the intercept attempts, which led to “its warhead exploding in the air over the city.”

It stressed that this was a “terrorist attack on the civilian infrastructure of Sevastopol with U.S.-supplied ATACMS tactical missiles loaded with cluster warheads.”

According to AFP, “Videos posted on social media showed people running from the beach as explosions went off and people in swimming outfits carrying a stretcher.” This is based on newly discovered, unverified evidence.

The military of Russia issued an alert, saying, “Such actions will not be left without a response.” Even in the case of cross-border strikes, the Biden administration has consistently attempted to assert that weapons supplied by the US and transferred to Ukraine are “defensive” and can only be used to fight military objectives.

Presumably, Russia is preparing to strike several locations around Ukraine and will target installations housing foreign military hardware and armaments depots. As a result of this significant escalation, President Putin will probably remark on it within the next 24 hours.

As the people prepare for more, Ukraine has already experienced rolling blackouts across the country as a result of increased airstrikes and drone assaults that are mostly targeting the country’s energy infrastructure.

In another development, a violent attack in Dagestan targeted a synagogue and an Orthodox church, resulting in the deaths of 15 policemen, a priest, and four civilians. The incident has sparked controversy and suspicions of Western involvement, with accusations suggesting NATO’s role in the attacks. Russia has launched investigations and manhunts to apprehend the perpetrators amid escalating tensions and international scrutiny.
