Ukrainian intelligence chief Kyrylo Budanov revealed that there have been several attempts to assassinate Russian President Vladimir Putin. He shared this information with the New Voice website, and the story came out on July 13, just hours before the attempt on Trump’s life in Pennsylvania. Budanov admitted, “But as you can see, they were unsuccessful.” He didn’t explain where his information came from or if Ukrainian intelligence had anything to do with the plans.

Vladimir Putin has been the target of multiple assassination attempts, commander of the military intelligence service Kyrylo Budanov said on Saturday.
“But as you can see, they were unsuccessful,” Budanov told New Voice, a Ukrainian website. The general did not specify the foundation for his assertion. Furthermore, he did not clarify if the preparations involved him or any other Ukrainian intelligence agency reports Yahoo News.
In the past, Budanov has used offensive remarks as a kind of psychological warfare. In response, Dmitry Peskov, a spokesman for the Kremlin, stated unequivocally that the president would be kept secure. According to him, “The threat from the Kiev regime is obvious,” he stated in Moscow to the official TASS news agency.
In addition, Budanov stated that although Putin was no longer viewed by the Russian elite as a compromise figure, they were still frightened of losing him due of his more than two decades in office.
He stated that he thought the reaction to Putin’s passing would be comparable to that of Soviet leader Josef Stalin in 1953. According to Budanov, “their whole world collapsed, they didn’t know how to go on living” people living in the Soviet Union at the time.
Regarding attempts to attack Putin over his long tenure in office, not much is known. Budanov stated that in May 2022, just after Putin gave the order to begin the special military operation in Ukraine, a group of men from the Caucasus made an unsuccessful murder attempt. There’s no proof of this.
On July 13, 2024, a 20-year-old man named Thomas Matthew Crooks shot at Donald Trump during a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania. Trump was injured and bleeding from his right ear, while one person at the rally was killed and two others were critically hurt. Secret Service agents quickly responded and shot Crooks dead. However, it was not the first; as documented by GreatGameInternational, this shocking incident marked the ninth assassination attempt on Trump’s life.
