Russia Orders UK Defense Attaché Out Of The Country In Tit-For-Tat

Russia's foreign ministry has revealed that it has ordered the UK defense attaché out of the country in a tit-for-tat move after the UK expelled Moscow's defense attaché this month, alleging he was 'an undeclared military intelligence officer.'

Russia retaliated on Thursday, ordering the British defense attaché to leave the nation in retaliation for the UK's most recent diplomatic actions against Moscow.

"The defense attaché at the British Embassy in Moscow, A. T. Coghill, has been declared persona non grata. He must leave the territory of the Russian Federation within a week," Russia's foreign ministry said.

It comes after the UK for the first time this month expelled Moscow's defense attaché from its territory because he was "an undeclared military intelligence officer." Russia denounced it as a fabrication, and its top diplomat for military matters was compelled to depart.
