Russian Colonel Who Carried Putin’s Nuclear Briefcase Assassinated

Russian colonel who carried Putin’s nuclear briefcase has been assassinated. Vadim Zimin was discovered with bullet injuries in the kitchen of his apartment in Krasnogorsk, Moscow area.

According to reports, a Covert colonel who carried the Russian president's nuclear codes was discovered shot at his house.

Vadim Zimin, 53, is facing allegations of collecting bribes in his new employment as a customs officer after leaving the security services.

Zimin is a former colonel from the Federal Security Service who was in charge of the briefcase containing Russia's nuclear controls, which is usually carried by the Kremlin leader.

He is believed to have served in this capacity as an aide to former President Boris Yeltsin.

Zimin remained in the security service, eventually advancing to the rank of colonel under his successor, Vladimir Putin.
