Prikspijt – New Dutch Word Of The Year Translates To ‘Vaccine Regret’

Prikspijt, translated into English as “vaccine regret,” was voted the newest Dutch Word of the Year in the dictionary competition. The word is defined as “a feeling of regret someone has about having been vaccinated against any infectious disease.”

The dictionary editor who ran the Twitter campaign stated, Prikspijt, "mirrors polarization of society around the vaccine and booster shot."

Prikspijt was chosen from amongst 15 words in the Dikke Van Dale Dictionary with a score of 82.2%. ...
