Operation True Promise II: Iran Strikes Mossad And Israeli Military Airbases

On Tuesday evening, the Iranian armed forces launched a large-scale attack against Israeli-occupied areas, using hundreds of ballistic missiles. This operation was a response to previous Israeli actions, and according to the Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC), a remarkable 90% of these missiles successfully hit their intended targets, which included military and intelligence sites in Tel Aviv and other occupied regions.

Key Targets of the Attack

Among the main targets were several important airbases:

  • Tel Nof Airbase: Close to Tel Aviv, this base is vital for Israeli air operations.
  • Nevatim Airbase: This base houses advanced F-35 warplanes, making it a significant target.
  • Ramon Airbase: Another strategic military location.
  • Hatzerim Airbase: Also targeted during this operation.

Major General Mohammad Bagheri, the chief of staff of the Iranian armed forces, provided details about the operation, named “Operation True Promise II.” He praised the military for their efforts, stating that the IRGC’s aerospace force was taking revenge for various Israeli attacks.

Specific Targets Chosen for Revenge

Bagheri highlighted three key locations that were specifically targeted:

  1. Mossad Headquarters: This location is notorious for its role in Israeli intelligence operations, including numerous assassinations.
  2. Nevatim Airbase: Chosen due to its housing of the F-35 fighter jets.
  3. Hatzerim Airbase: Known for its involvement in a deadly attack against Hezbollah’s leader, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah.

Despite the scale of the operation, Bagheri noted that civilian areas and economic centers were not targeted, even though it was within their capability. He emphasized that the IRGC and the Iranian armed forces are prepared for any future scenarios, warning that they would respond even more forcefully if Iran’s sovereignty is threatened.

Mossad Headquarters Targeted

Reports from earlier in August suggested that Iranian forces were likely to target sites connected to the Israeli spy agency, Mossad. These included military intelligence centers, particularly one located near Tel Aviv, responsible for coordinating various military operations. Video evidence surfaced, showing direct hits on these sites during the missile strikes.

Strikes on Israeli Airbases

The Negev desert hosts Nevatim Airbase, which is expansive and crucial for Israel’s air defense. This base has multiple runways and hosts several squadrons of advanced aircraft, including the F-35 stealth fighters. Iranian sources claim that the attack was one of the heaviest ever documented, with multiple videos showing the devastation caused by the missile strikes.

Reports indicated extensive damage at Nevatim Airbase, with over 20 jet fighters potentially destroyed. Other videos captured strikes on Hatzerim and Tel Nof airbases, showcasing fiery explosions that lit up the night sky.

Rising Tensions in the Region

This massive retaliatory operation by Iran marks a significant escalation in the ongoing conflict between Iran and Israel. As tensions rise, many are left wondering what this could mean for the future of the region. With both sides preparing for potential further confrontations, the world watches closely, anticipating the next move in this escalating situation.
