This important news follows a major political shift in Bangladesh. Three days before his acquittal, an interim government was formed, with Professor Yunus being appointed as the chief adviser. This government came into power after the previous prime minister, Sheikh Hasina, stepped down following a massive student-led protest on August 5. Alongside Professor Yunus, Nurjahan Begum, who was also accused in the corruption case, was named an adviser in the interim government.

The decision to drop the charges against Professor Yunus was made by Judge Md Rabiul Alam of Dhaka’s Special Judge’s Court-4. The ACC had requested the court to withdraw the case, and the judge agreed, following a legal procedure known as section 494 of the Code of Criminal Procedure.

Just a day before taking his oath as the interim government’s chief adviser, Professor Yunus, who is also the chairman of Grameen Telecom, along with its directors, including Nurjahan Begum, was acquitted in a labor law case. Earlier this year, on January 1, they had been sentenced to six months in prison and fined Tk 30,000 each for the violation, but this verdict has now been overturned.

The corruption case against Professor Yunus and 13 others was related to the alleged misappropriation of about Tk 25.22 crore from the Grameen Telecom Workers’ profit participation fund. The ACC had formally charged them on June 12, and the case had been progressing through the courts.

However, as the political situation changed, the court decided to drop these charges. The other accused included key figures from Grameen Telecom, union leaders, and lawyers who were all involved in the case.

We told you last year How Hunter Biden Plans to Disrupt Bangladesh Elections,

Muhammad Yunus asked Hillary Clinton to influence Joe Biden through key officials like Antony Blinken. The BNP hired Hunter Biden as a lobbyist through Blue Star Strategies. This move, revealed in May 2023, aims to pressure the US to intervene in Bangladesh’s elections, stop trade if the BNP isn’t included, and manipulate the democratic process.

Hunter Biden has connections with Blue Star Strategies, a firm known for its lobbying activities. In the past, this firm worked for a Ukrainian company and a Chinese private equity firm. In January 2022, Bangladesh’s State Minister for Foreign Affairs revealed that BNP spent $3.75 million on a US lobbyist firm as part of their anti-Bangladesh campaign.

Blue Star Strategies was hired by BNP in August 2018 through Abdus Sattar, a UK-based party leader. The firm was tasked with promoting BNP’s goals for the 2018 general elections and educating US officials and media about BNP’s interest in fair elections.

BNP has promised Hunter Biden $100 million, besides the lobbyist fees, if they return to power with US help. They also assured him of priority in business deals related to Bangladesh’s oil and gas sector.

Mohammed Yunus, often called the “father of microcredit” in Bangladesh, is known for his work with Grameen Bank, which earned him a Nobel Peace Prize in 2006. However, what is not reported by mainstream media is the direct involvement of influential figures like Hunter Biden and Hillary Clinton in destabilizing Bangladesh and paving the way for their golden boy to take the throne.

GreatGameInternational predicted in December 2023 itself, How US Policies Could Turn Bangladesh into the Next Afghanistan. This has now come to pass and confirmed by Sheikh Hasina herself.

“I could have remained in power if I had surrendered the sovereignty of Saint Martin Island and allowed America to hold sway over the Bay of Bengal. I beseech to the people of my land, ‘Please do not be manipulated by radicals,” Hasina said in a message conveyed to The Economic Times through her close associates.
