The trouble started when officials at the base warned everyone not to drink the water because they believed it might have been contaminated. Military police and intelligence agents soon discovered that part of the fence surrounding the base had been damaged, suggesting that someone might have broken in.

The authorities are taking this situation very seriously. According to an internal report, all personnel still on the base were instructed to stay alert, report any suspicious people, and watch for anything unusual. This heightened security measure came after reports surfaced that someone suspicious had been seen near the base’s fence the previous night but fled when spotted.

To keep everyone safe, the base was locked down, meaning no one can enter or leave. The Territorial Command in Berlin confirmed the lockdown but didn’t share many details, only stating that the situation is being handled with utmost seriousness.

This base is crucial for Germany’s military operations, especially in supporting efforts in Ukraine. It also houses military aircraft used by Chancellor Olaf Scholz and other top government officials for their travels.
