George Soros To End All EU Operations

George Soros’ Open Society Foundations, now managed by his son Alexander, will mostly stop their activities in the European Union.

George Soros To End All EU Operations

This decision follows the foundation-funded NGOs efforts to bring migrants to Europe for more than ten years. This change comes after the family foundation, which has $25 billion in assets, announced a reduction in its workforce by at least 40% after Alexander took over.

The OSF states a “radical shift of strategic direction.” They say their new way of working will require “significant further restructuring” and “closing all regional and global programs.” This information comes from a letter they sent to groups they support in Hungary, and Bloomberg got to see it.

The message, which refers to a different note sent to personnel at OSF’s Berlin headquarters, states that “Ultimately, the new approved strategic direction provides for withdrawal and termination of large parts of our current work within the European Union, shifting our focus and allocation of resources to other parts of the world.”

“OSF will largely terminate funding within the European Union, and further funding will be extremely limited,” it says, without going into detail, other than to suggest that the organization is changing direction because “EU institutions and governments were already allocating significant resources to human rights, freedom, and pluralism” within the bloc.

George Soros has handed control of his $25 billion empire to his son Alex, who is a Harvard-trained lawyer. Alex played a key role in stabilizing the Soros investment firm after a tumultuous period.

And, of course, Bloomberg has good things to say about OSF:

In the EU, OSF financed a wide range of philanthropic programs in the bloc’s eastern former communist members, including Hungary, Poland, Slovakia, Romania, the Czech Republic, Bulgaria and elsewhere. They included initiatives aimed at strengthening democracy, promoting human rights and alleviating the poverty and discrimination faced by the Roma minority.

It also funds projects in non-EU European countries such as in the Balkans and further afield in central Asia.

The organization based its European headquarters in Budapest until 2018, when it moved to Berlin following a years-long campaign against Soros and the OSF’s liberal values by nationalist Prime Minister Viktor Orban’s government in Hungary. It also has offices in Barcelona, Brussels and Belgium.

In the last 30 years, OSF has spent more than $19 billion on different projects. This includes $209 million in 2021 for projects in Europe and central Asia.

  1. Of course. The S O B has singlehandedly destroyed the EU. It’s time to move on to greener pastures. Those funds can now be used to support more Woke DA and WEF candidates in the USA.
