First-Ever Video Livestream Done From Mars. Feed Reaches Earth In 17 Minutes

The European Space Agency successfully conducted the first-ever video livestream from Mars, and the feed reached Earth in 17 minutes.

In what could be the future, the European Space Agency successfully conducted the first-ever video live stream from Mars. Europe's Mars Express hovering above the Red Planet beamed the video feed, which reached Earth minutes later.

It took nearly 17 minutes for each picture to reach Earth, nearly 300 million kilometers away, and another minute to get through the ground stations. However, the transmission was disrupted at times by rainy weather at the deep space-relay antenna in Spain.

The images were captured by the Visual Monitoring Camera (VMC) onboard Mars Express, which now acts as a webcam for the probe.
