Dr. John Lott, president of the Crime Prevention Research Center (CPRC) and a world-renowned specialist on guns and crime, testified before a Congressional subcommittee on violence in mid-December and revealed some shocking findings. One of the most significant was that the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) concealed the knowledge that armed civilians routinely use their firearms to stop active shooter incidents.

Lott testified (read below) before the U.S. House Judiciary Committee's Subcommittee on Crime, Terrorism, and Homeland Security that the FBI substantially underreported the number of times armed people halted active shooters from 2014 to 2021.
