E-Bikes Are Catching Fire All Across America

According to a WSJ report, the New York City Fire Department revealed the number of e-bike lithium-ion battery fires had more than doubled last year to 216 and is rising all over America.

According to New York City officials, a supermarket and apartment building were destroyed on Sunday due to a fire caused by an electric bike. The rise in reports of lithium-ion battery fires across the metro area is an unintended consequence of the ‘green’ mobility trend.

WSJ reported the New York City Fire Department revealed the number of e-bike lithium-ion battery fires had more than doubled last year to 216. The fire department said the blazes had injured 40 people and killed two this year.

  1. Most users of electric vehicles probably do NOT understand potential problems with lithium batteries. If you “bump” a bike against a parking meter, curb or other vehicle, the batteries can catch fire hours later. That leaves you with the choice of risking a fire if it’s inside or theft if it’s outside. Commissioner Kavanagh is not exaggerating a particle!

  2. “Green” my ass!
All of this crap requires huge amounts of rare resources we don’t have. Mining, manufacturing and using these is extremely harmful for living beings and the environment.
Use your feet, public transport or a classical bicycle. Or wait for Dr. Rossis Leonardo eCat SKLep offgrid version. There is no need for ebikes, except for the Great Reset crowd.
