According to reports, a guy attacked Mette Frederiksen, the prime minister of Denmark, when she was strolling through the heart of Copenhagen, leaving her stunned and suffering from whiplash.
The lawmaker was attacked in a square in the old center of the city by a man who approached her and struck her.
Although the perpetrator was apprehended quickly, the motive remains unknown at this time.
It was described as a "despicable act, which goes against everything we believe in and fight for in Europe" by Ursula von der Leyen, the head of the European Commission.
