Recently, leaders from BRICS—an alliance of Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa, Ethiopia, Egypt, Iran, and the UAE—gathered for a three-day summit in Kazan, Russia. They released an important document that addresses many global issues and calls for a fairer world.
A Fairer World for All
The main message from this summit is a desire for a multipolar world order. This means that instead of one or two countries holding most of the power, many countries—especially those that are emerging or developing—should have a voice in global affairs. The leaders emphasized that the current world system, largely dominated by Western countries, doesn’t benefit everyone equally. They want to see more representation for these nations in international organizations, so all voices are heard.
