What Information Do We Have About the Injured?

One of the top Russian tabloids, Kommersant, said that the injured man was a member of the GRU, or Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, Main Directorate of the General Staff.

An unidentified source, cited by the news agency Interfax, claimed that the owner of the vehicle was a colonel in the Russian Armed Forces and the commander of a General Staff unit.

He fought in the battle against Ukraine and is supposedly in charge of military satellite communications. Interfax sources claim that all versions—including the one regarding the “Ukrainian trace”—are being looked into by the investigation.

Arrests Made in Turkey

The Federal Security Service (FSB) chief, Alexander Bortnikov, informed the SHOT Telegram channel that the suspect had escaped to Turkey and that the agency was attempting to bring him back.

On July 24, Turkish Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya announced that Turkish police had arrested a Russian national who was allegedly involved in a car bombing that left two individuals injured in Moscow earlier in the day, one of whom was reportedly a top military intelligence official.

The man, who Yerlikaya identified as Russian citizen Yevgeny Serebryakov, is suspected of carrying out a terrorist act in Moscow by planting an explosive device on a car that caused two injuries, according to Yerlikaya on X. Yerlikaya stated that Serebryakov was taken into custody by Turkish authorities in the Mugla Province after arriving by plane from Moscow.

A video of Turkish police removing a man from a white automobile and handcuffing him was posted on Yerlikaya’s page.
