On Tuesday, an American mom from Kansas pled guilty to forming and heading an all-female combat battalion for the ISIS terrorist organization in Syria in a federal district court in the United States.

Allison Fluke-Ekren, a mother of five and a former teacher, admits to training about 100 women and girls to aid ISIS. She also planned a terrorist strike on US soil, according to court documents released by the US Department of Justice.

Fluke-Ekren was caught in Syria on Jan. 28 after living years overseas aiding the ISIS terrorist organization. She was taken into jail and transported to the United States.

Fluke-Ekren’s guilty plea in the Eastern District of Virginia was accepted by US District Judge Leonie Brinkema on Tuesday.

On Jan. 31, Fluke-Ekren appeared in a U.S. court, where she registered no plea and was ordered held without bond until a detention hearing in February.

According to the Department of Justice, the Kansas mother, who is estranged from her parents and adult children, moved to Egypt in 2008 to live with her second husband, a now-deceased ex member of the Ansar al-Sharia terrorist organization.

She lived eight years in Syria, Libya, and Iraq, beginning in September 2011, participating in “terrorism-related activities” until assuming the leader of Khatiba Nusaybah, an all-female ISIS unit.

She instructed women and young girls—some as small as 10 or 11 years old—in the handling of automatic fire AK-47 assault rifles, grenades, and suicide belts loaded with explosives as the group’s leader and coordinator. She also lectured in religion seminars, martial arts, medical training, and courses in operating vehicles used as bombs

Fluke-Akren aided her husband in evaluating and summarizing the contents of US government documents seized in the wake of the terrorist attack on the US Special Mission and CIA Annex in Benghazi, Libya, on September 11, 2012.

Fluke-Ekren informed a witness in Syria around mid-2014 that she wanted to conduct an operation in the United States.

According to the eyewitness, the former United States schoolteacher outlined plans to strike a Midwest college with bombs. She also planned to bomb a shopping center in the United States.

“To conduct the attack, Fluke-Ekren explained that she could go to a shopping mall in the United States, park a vehicle full of explosives in the basement or parking garage level of the structure, and detonate the explosives in the vehicle with a cell phone triggering device,” according to the DOJ’s release.

As per the witness, Fluke-Ekren regarded any strike that did not kill a significant number of people to be a misuse of finances, and she hoped that operations that took place outside the United States had instead transpired on American soil.
