Taliban Unveils Afghanistan’s First ‘Supercar’

Taliban spokesperson Zabihullah Mujahid shared photographs of the Mada 9 on social media, calling it a “honor” for the entire nation. And with that, Taliban has unveiled Afghanistan’s first supercar.

A team of 30 engineers from the firm ENTOP and Kabul’s Afghanistan Technical Vocational Institute showcased a black sports car, despite the fact that nobody would expect a supercar to be produced there.

Mada 9, the first supercar made in Afghanistan, resembles a McLaren or possibly a Bugatti (from a distance).

Beyond the images, the question of what is under the hood remains unanswered. Several tweets indicate that the powertrain is similar to that of a Toyota Corolla hatchback.

“The designers have used different parts of other vehicles, mostly Toyota parts, to build the first model,” Afghan press Khaama Press said.

The car’s mechanics are displayed in a video on ENTOP’s Twitter account. Any aficionado of automobiles would liken it to a kit car.

According to Khaama, ENTOP plans to have Mada 9 on display at the Qatar Exhibition in Doha in 2023. So, before that, they should best give the motor a boost.
