Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze has claimed that a plot to assassinate Bidzina Ivanishvili, founder of the ruling Georgian Dream party, was orchestrated by the same global forces that attempted to kill former US President Donald Trump and Slovakian Prime Minister Robert Fico. This dramatic revelation follows an investigation by Georgia’s State Security Service, which points to former Georgian officials now in Ukraine as the masterminds behind a planned coup. Amid rising tensions and allegations of US involvement in destabilizing Georgia, the political intrigue deepens as questions about global conspiracies and power struggles come to the forefront.

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze has stated that the same groups that attempted to kill former US President Donald Trump and Slovakian Prime Minister Robert Fico also planned to kill the founder of the country’s ruling party.

His remarks follow the announcement by Georgia’s State Security Service (SSS) that it has opened an investigation into a plot to kill Bidzina Ivanishvili, the party’s founder, and several other senior figures reports RT.

The SSS said it investigates an alleged plot against Ivanishvili, “organized and financed by former high-ranking officials of the Georgian government and former employees of the security agencies who are in Ukraine.” 

According to the agency, the plot’s objective was to carry out a bloody coup amid civil turmoil and the erosion of official authority. The SSS further stated that it has started interviewing Georgians who have just returned home after serving in the Ukrainian war.

During a press briefing on Wednesday, Kobakhidze proposed that the recent high-profile murder attempts in the US and Slovakia, as well as the purported terrorist plots in Georgia, are all part of a “common pattern that characterizes the same global political forces.”

He stressed that it is evident from the SSS investigation and the plot against Ivanishvili that these unidentified forces pose a threat to Georgia as well.

The US is allegedly trying to overthrow the current government in Georgia by inciting massive demonstrations around the time of the country’s impending parliamentary elections, according to allegations made earlier this month by Russia’s Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR).

According to the SVR, “American ‘curators’ have already given the command to the opposition forces in Georgia to begin planning protests in the country to coincide with the election,” and the Biden administration has “already prepared a large-scale information campaign to discredit the Georgian Dream party.”

Following the passage of the so-called “foreign agents” law by Georgian lawmakers in May, ties between Tbilisi and Washington have recently deteriorated. According to the law, organizations, media, and people who obtain more than 20 percent of their funding from overseas must register as organizations supporting “the interest of a foreign power.”

The legislation was sharply denounced by the West and set off widespread protests in the capital of Georgia. While the EU has halted Georgia’s membership to the bloc and banned some $32 million in payments to the Georgian Defense Ministry, the US has begun a “comprehensive review” of its bilateral relations with Tbilisi and delayed joint military exercises.

Earlier, Georgia’s Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze revealed that he received threats after exposing an assassination attempt against Slovakia’s Prime Minister Robert Fico. He recently claimed that the same group he calls the “Global War Party” was also behind assassination attempt on Trump.
