Taylor Swift's Vienna Concerts Called Off Due To Planned Terror Attack 1

Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour concerts in Vienna have been canceled due to a planned terrorist attack, according to Austrian police. The concerts, which were scheduled for Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, were set to take place at the Ernst Happel Stadium.

The decision to cancel the shows came after authorities confirmed a serious threat aimed at the concerts. Barracuda Music, the event organizer, announced on Instagram that the cancellation was necessary for everyone’s safety. They also stated that all ticket holders would be refunded, and Swift’s website reflects this information, noting that refunds will be processed automatically within ten business days.

Austrian Chancellor Karl Nehammer expressed his disappointment and praised officials for their quick action in preventing a potential tragedy.

The threat involved two suspects who were arrested by Austrian police. One of them, a 19-year-old, was reportedly connected to ISIS and had purchased chemicals that could potentially be used to make a bomb. The suspects had been under surveillance and had detailed plans for attacking major events, including Swift’s concerts.

Authorities have stated that the suspects were radicalized online and were well-known to police. Although the chemicals were found, it was determined that they did not have all the components needed to build a bomb in time for the weekend’s events.

Swift has not yet commented on the cancellations. She has previously expressed concerns about security at her concerts, particularly after high-profile attacks at other events. Despite the cancellation, Austrian police and security teams have been working hard to ensure the safety of the public and the events in Vienna.
