Michael Sussman, a former Hillary Clinton campaign lawyer, went on trial in May 2022 for reportedly lying to the FBI. Sussmann reported allegations of a secret relationship between Donald Trump and Russia to the FBI before the 2016 election. He stated to the FBI that he was not representing a client. He claimed to have been working on behalf of a client during oath in late 2017
