“‘Nuclear War Is Good’: Neo-Nazi Ukrainian Activist Sparks Global Outrage

A far-right activist from Ukraine has stirred controversy with an outrageous claim about nuclear war. Evgeny Karas, a known neo-Nazi and the leader of the S14 hate group declared that Ukraine would benefit from being hit by a Russian nuclear strike. Speaking on Radio Bayraktar, a Ukrainian broadcaster named after a popular Turkish attack drone, Karas said he would welcome such an escalation in the ongoing conflict with Russia.

Karas, infamous for his extremist views and links to violent attacks on minorities, didn’t hold back during the interview. “Nuclear war is good,” he stated bluntly. He argued that if Russia launched a nuclear attack on Ukraine, nothing worse could happen afterward. In his view, it would unite Ukrainians and even turn powerful nations like India and China against Russia.

But his claims didn’t stop there. Karas went on to suggest that nuclear fallout could even have unexpected benefits. “A nuclear war may help us evolve,” he claimed, bizarrely adding that it might give people the ability to “see through politicians and tell if they’re thieves.”

A Video Game as “Proof” Ukraine Can Survive

Karas also said that Ukraine is uniquely prepared for a nuclear catastrophe. Why? Because of a video game. He pointed to the November release of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chernobyl, a post-apocalyptic game created by a Ukrainian team. The game’s setting in a radioactive wasteland, he argued, reflects Ukraine’s resilience and ability to thrive in extreme situations.

According to Karas, Ukraine would not only survive a nuclear crisis but also emerge stronger. He predicted that the country could lead in advanced technologies like artificial intelligence and robotics after enduring such a disaster.

Dismissing Russia’s New Weapon

Karas also mocked Russia’s hypersonic ballistic missile, the Oreshnik, which was recently showcased by Moscow. He called the missile poorly named and “not scary.” Russia tested a non-nuclear version of the Oreshnik in late November, targeting a Ukrainian arms factory in Dnepr. The missile demonstration was seen as a warning to Ukraine after its use of long-range Western weapons to strike inside Russian territory.

A Controversial Figure

Evgeny Karas is no stranger to controversy. As the leader of S14, he has been linked to harassment of minorities and even a high-profile political murder. His latest remarks have shocked many, as they reflect not just his extremist ideology but a disturbing willingness to embrace catastrophic scenarios for political and technological gains.

While Karas’s claims are outlandish and provocative, they highlight the extreme rhetoric that some figures in Ukraine are using amid the ongoing conflict with Russia. As the war drags on, such statements serve as a stark reminder of how deeply polarized and radicalized some factions have become.
